crafty one

I made this for my mom's birthday.
I didn't want to post it until I gave it to her yesterday.
It's a pin cushion for her sewing room. It only told me a short
while to make it, once I stopped messing up so much and
figured out how to do it the right way.
It's actually a kit that a quilting store puts together and sells it as a kit.
I like this so I don't have all these left overs and no clue what to do with them.
This way, I put it together myself and I'm done. This one came with the spring and I bought buttons that look like bees and glued them onto the pins.

just try it

When we came back from Idaho last summer we stopped at a restaurant and were told that we must try the Monte Cristo. I thought it was strange looking, didn't know if it was a dessert or a dinner. It's dinner and man is it tasty. Basically, its ham, Swiss cheese sandwich dipped in batter and fried. Put powdered sugar and fruit preserves on it and it's delightful. I made this one for dinner the other night and the hubster loved it. Bubbie ate it all and the money just ate the fruit preserves. I think I'm going to make it for dinner while the in=laws are here this week.

gathering place

Party with friends. We must do this again soon!

A few of us wanted to have a get together before Valentine's day. I had bought a turkey after Christmas and was wanting to use it for a party.
Kid friendly party and what was funny is that we didn't even notice the kids. They all played well in the backyard while the adults ate and laughed.
We had a pit fire going for a little warmth and to stare at. Why do we do that?
I pulled out the yummy stale marshmallows for the kids to roast. They didn't even notice how gross they were, hard as rock.
My sweet little boy that I babysit.

pampering party

Friday night I had a Mary Kay party.
I thought since it was close to Valentine's day to make a theme out of it.
I got the canned Cinnamon rolls and just unrolled the one side of each
roll and twisted it to look like a heart.
Took me a total of 2 minutes to do it.
And, of course, it wasn't my idea, but some
loving person on Pinterest.
Cute.

french toast hearts

Happy Valentine's Day!
I think this day is right up there with Christmas. This
Morning I made French toast cut out in the shape
of hearts. I let the kids sprinkle
pink or red sprinkles on top and add thick syrup.
I loaded their lunch boxes for pre-school with heart shaped strawberry
sandwiches. I cut out piece of cheese in the shapes of hearts.
I then baked some pre-cut valentine cookies and added them as a treat.
Man, I love valentine's day.

love letters

Found this adorable way to keep the nuggets Valentine's all together on Tuesday. I suggested it to the other mommy that was teaching pre-school last week and we made it work so they have these way cute suitcases to collect their valentine's. I wish everyday was Valentine's Day.

candy house

My mom got the kids a kit to make them a gingerbread house and decorate it. This Christmas was so busy. It just flew by and I dislike that. I don't want every holiday to be so busy that we miss it and it has no meaning. A few days before Christmas we went up to Vegas for a football game while the nuggets stayed at grandma's. We enjoyed the game and being with the hubsters family, but we really missed our kids. Especially since it was right before Christmas and we just felt like we missed out on things we could be doing with them to celebrate the season.

mambo Italiano

Made spaghetti the other night and made WAY too much. I often do that. Decided to make it into another dish and it turned out tasty if I say so myself. HERE is how to do it.

the plate ran away with the candlestick

I love this idea. So much in fact that I ran out to my favorite thrift store and got both the plate and candlestick for under $2. I glued the candlestick to the plate and put it next to my sick to keep all those strange things together and out of the way. Bless you Pinterest.

mixed reviews

I made this on Sunday for breakfast. Used a day old loaf discounted from the store. Bubbie LOVED it and ate 3/4 of it. Monkey thought it was fine. The Hubster said it was good, but had a strange after taste and I really didn't like it at all. So, there you have it. Here's how to make it. I know others love it. HERE
