Power walking

My good friend Lindsey joined this group on-line called http://www.meetup.com/, it's this site where you can meet-up with groups of people to do activities that you like ie. hiking, running, walking, art, yadda yadda. So tonite she invited me to go meet-up with a group of 20-30's gals to walk reid park. Tons of girls there and so sweet and inviting. Dan dropped me off to caching with Kyt in the area while I walked the 3 mile coarse with the young ladies. Lindsey and I took up the rear since the more talking we do the slower we walked, my fault. So fun and a great way to do something you like with tons of people that like to do the same. Thanks for inviting me Lins. Afterwards, Dan, Kyt and I went out for a soft ice cream cone. Fun night...

twilight DVD release

As you know I'm obsessed with the Twilight saga. I heart Edward Cullen. Summit Entertainment is going to release the two-disk DVD on MARCH 21st. I'm counting down the days. There were rumors that it might be coming out on Valentine's day, but it's been confirmed for March. Dan said no matter what, he would get it for me on that day. SO, mark your calendars, make Twilight party plans (hint: LINDSEY) or whatever it is that you do to celebrate a great day. Go team Cullen...

Under the Christmas tree

Kyt liked to crawl under the Christmas tree a lot this year. This isn't her Christmas dress. It's just one she wears to church. The actual dress is on regular film and we're not done with the film yet. I'm sure you're familiar with this, but I'm the one always taking the pictures so Dan looks like a single dad on the blog. There was this beaded gold ornament and I don't know what she thought of it, but she kept trying to bite into it. strange little girl...

It's baby signing time

Kyt has these dvd's that are called Baby Signing Time. These dvd's teach baby signs to infants. It's fun and very well done. Kyt loves them and she picks up on the signs very quickly. We only have the first 2 volumes so, everyday we watch both in the morning. She pulls out her Elmo chair props it right center in front of the TV, gets her blanket, drink and snack (like she's at the movie theater) and starts signing before the video starts. I love these video and think they're a great visual aide and supplement to what we're already enforcing for communication. However, I do not enjoy waking-up at 3am for my potty trip and go back to bed singing the "Diaper Dance". I can't get it out of my head after that. Put a bullet to my head...

"Meatloaf, meatloaf, I hate meatloaf"

I don't hate meatloaf. In fact, I love meatloaf. But, if you've seen The Christmas Story I don't have to explain it to you. I love meatloaf so much this week that I made it on Monday and going to make it again tonight. Only because my friend Jenn gave me a recipe for meatloaf that is to kill for. It's not so much the meatloaf as it is the sauce that goes on top. MAN, it's gooooood. Dan took left-overs to work on Tuesday and he said it's better the second day. That's never happened. You have to at least try the sauce for you meatloaf. So here's both anyways: Try it and tell me if you agree.

MEATLOAF:

1 lbs hamburger

1/2 pkg. onion soup mix

1/4 c ketchup

1/4 c milk

2 slices bread, torn

1 egg

1/4 liquid smoke

SAUCE:

1 clove garlic, minced

1 T. lemon juice

1 1/2 c brown sugar

1/2 t liquid smoke

2 T worcestershire sauce

1 t dry mustard

1/2 onion, minced

3 shakes nutmeg

1/2 c ketchup

*if using only 1 ils. hamburger 1/2 the sauce. Bake 350 degrees for 45-60 mins adding sauce for last 10-15 min.

Twilight Zone

My gorgeous friend Lindsey and I went to see Twilight last night. We've both seen it when it first came out, however, I broke all the rules and saw it before I read the books. So, I didn't fully understand what was going on. We decided to go last night and we were just as bad as the tweenagers in there. So many new things that I picked up on, so many "ah-ha" moments. I hope they allow Taylor (I think that's his name) to come back as Jacob to keep the consistency from Twilight for New Moon. But, That's just me. Thanks Lindsey!

I heart Edward Cullen

So obsessed. I got the Twilight saga for Christmas. I had been hearing so much about these books from the YW in church and decided to get bitten. I have been in a Twilight Zone ever since last week. I was so into the books that I read all 4 in a week. I've never done that before, even with Harry Potter books or my favorite autor Anita Stansfield. I also read the first 264 pages of Midnight Sun (Edwards point of view) from Stephanie's website. If you haven'tealready I highly recommend it. It's been always on my mind of what Edward thinks since he always knows what everyone else thinks. SOOOO good. I can't wait for Stephanie to finish Midnight Sun and for the New Moon movie to be completed!!!!
