Message for Art

I made Monkey a message borad for her room. She's always making art and thought this would be a pretty way for her to display her art. I got the frame from a thift store and painted it. The fabric and ribbon I would wait until I got a coupon for 50% at JoAnn's so I wouldn't pay full price. Took me 30 minutes to put it together. Simple and for under $8.

Spring has brought me such a nice surprise!

We go outside and play everyday. I think we need to get it all in before it gets so hot out skin melts. People ask me all the time if Kyt's hair is naturally curly. And the answer to that is: NO, I get up everyday at 5am to set it in curlers.
She loves this dress. I got it for FREE on Saturday from Sears. They have a program called Kidvantage. You take in the clothes that they have wore out and they will replace the outfit with something close. So, I had 4 sundresses from last summer and replaced them with 4 new sundresses. I love the colors on this one so much. She loves the pockets!
I don't know what this look means. But, I think she's about to pounce.

Daddy like the sidewalk messages we leave for him when he comes home from work.

These weren't like this yesterday!

These are in the corner of our backyard. I want more than anything for that tree to grow fast!
For Dan

Our neighbors tree is so huge and then there's my little tike
Does anyone know what these are called?

Outside orders add up fast

Thing 2 likes to follow Thing 1 where ever she goes. He likes best to be with her in the Den. That's where her art station is set-up. There, she likes to color, paint, and make crafts. I was in the living room folding todays latest pile of clothes that I would rather burn then fold and hang-up when I saw Thing 2 slowly coming out of the Den with this created by Thing 1. Very Art Deco/Abstract.

French Women don't get fat

I love this book. I read it every year about this time. My mom gave this book to me 3 years ago and thought it was a diet book. But, it's not. It's about well-being, enjoying fresh food, enjoying good conversations at the table, simple recipes and life. I love it and it is my suggested read.

Is your oven worse?

Gotta be honest. I never realized that after you install an oven that it can be moved anytime after that. Not until I saw my neighbor moving it and cleaning the sides of the oven and behind it once it was pulled all the way out. I then thought "Crap, it moves?" and "Crap, it's been 6 years of living in our house and that means there's 6 years of..." So, while the kids were napping I decided to just see what I would find and then I decided then to own it. This is what I found...

I spy: highlighter, chapstick, pot lid, cell phone, mints, spoon and a paci.

Just gross.

Does this mean I have Gas hook-up?

Clean as a whistle.

Still looks yucky, but I did scrub! How often does one clean behind an oven?

For Sarah

Sarah- Thisw is my sad garden. I hope it grows to be so plentiful this year.

The lettuce making it's firt appearance. The purple barrel is my version of a
rain barrel. The hubster brings them home for me from work. He cleans them up and cuts
the tops off.

The black trach can is another one of my creations. Compost
barrels go for $40 here! They need to make them more affordable
if they want people to be more eco. So, I went to Walmart and bought this $4 trach can.
Cut the bottom off, poured some rocks at the bottom. I only do veggies, lawn clippings
fruit, egg shells, bread, and napkins in this one. It works great!

4 kids and an Easter basket

I babysit everyday now. I like it and the kids I sit for are pretty great ( I have to say that, their mommies might be reading! :)). I normally don't go to playgroup because I sit for 2 babies and another 2 year old boy not including my 2 kids that are always with me. Yesterday was playgroup and they were having an Easter egg hunt. I thought my 2 yr. old would really enjoy that so I called my friend for moral support and mustered up the courage and took 3 babies and a 2 yr. to the park for the Easter egg hunt. It went well, went with 4 and came back with 4 so I consider that a huge success. The camera was on it's last battery charge to I had to quickly take a few shots to stamp the event. They all had fun and next year I'll shoot for 6 babies and 2 two yr. olds to haul to the park!
