Cootie Queen
This commercial makes me laugh so hard. I had a co-worker that loved these Orbitz commercials too and we would try to memorize the lines and would call each other a lint licker or a cootie queen...good times...

Surely you have red, white and blue construction paper if you have kids or card stock if you are a scrapbooker like me. This craft is from FamilyFun (just like the tutu) and just as soon as bubba wakes-up I will grab some paper from his closet and make one. I'll post the final-cut tomorrow!

It's scary how easily things can be made. This took me 20 minutes to prep and make.

Done and done
I actually blogged about this a while back but, I wasn't done with it. When I set it on the frame it was 1 inch too small and so we ended up having to buy a huge board and have it cut into thirds to make it fit. It is now hanging in monkeys room awaiting her creations.
cost of one yard of fabric $1.43
cost of ribbon" $ 1.12
cost of tacks: $.43

Tutu for a monkey
My mom subscribes to this magazine for me. I'm starting to get excited about it now that monkey can participate and enjoy the crafts. I received this months issue and didn't notice the cover until it was too late...it had been eaten by a tiny buddy. So, as I was going through the pages I found the instructions for the tutu's the girls are wearing on the cover.

I love 4th of July. It's my second favorite holiday. We're going to be in Idaho for that weekend and there's much more that goes on up there since they're not in much of danger of wildfires like we are here. I thought this was so cute and now that I have the instructions I'm going to make one for monkey for the 4th to wear. I have a friend that made one for her, but it's so nasty looking. I've washed it so many times and probably shouldn't have. But, there's just something about sour milk that makes you fill the washing machine with HOT water.

You can also make one for a boy and use it for a hat. I just might do that for buddy so his bald head doesn't feel left out.
Make one too and send me a picture!
Here are the instructions that look WAY easy!!

stars are gleaming
Monkey was laying on the floor a lot today. No flip-outs. Just bored. Bubba was down for a nap so I research an art project that she could do. I found on and cut out the stars. She placed the stars on the paper with glue and hung it on the door when it was dry.
Don't look at the stars too close. Here's the template for STARS, but I still somehow messed them up. Oh well.

Hot Rocks Baby
I saw this idea on a blog I follow and thought it would be fun to do while at the reunion in Idaho. I like it because there's not too many supplies needed. 1. Rock: nature provides
2. Crayons: under couch cushions
3. Heat: if the reunion were in AZ we could just pick up a hot rock from the ground, but at the camp ground were going to has an oven.
I like that afterwards you can put the rock in the garden or use it as a door stop. Some craft projects are fun, but then, what do you do with them? This one just seems functional and if you don't want it, just put it back where you found it!

So Sleepy
No clue how he's doing this, but I'm so sleepy lately I think I could do the same if the opportunity occurred.I'm normally pregnant during the summertime and pregnancy means tired. Well, this summer I'm not pregnant, but I'm so sleepy. I've been told it's the heat. I keep all the curtains closed to keep the house cooler and it's just too comfy I guess in the house.
I'm in need of cooler weather I think.

Stuck in Auto
I am so excited to take this class! And to think that I actually won a spot out of some really amazing photos. People that know what they're doing. I just can't get over it. This site offers some amazing classes if you ever want to get out of auto!

Hold On: Good Things to Come
Do you ever get frustrated at a situation you're in? I do.
This taught me to hold on.
Welcome the first day of summer!
Living in Arizona the summer started a while back. Although, it hasn't been miserable yet. Last night though I knew that it was going to be the start of the summer. Everyone has their AC's running and that overloads the transformers I suppose and at 12:58am the electricity went out. It was creepy dark and I couldn't go back to sleep because it slowly got hotter and hotter in the bedroom (and not because of the hubster sleeping next to me). I can sleep in really cold weather, but when you're hot and you've already striped down to you're skives and you're still hot, well, you just can't do anything about it.
It came back on after a few hours and I was able to go back to sleep, but before that I was suddenly thankful for electricity, air conditioners, fans, and refrigerators.

Heather's Bridge is Making Strides
Through my small business, I have teamed up with The American Cancer Society and will be participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk I would love for you to join me in this event or you can donate.
I was fortunate enough to pick our team name.
I chose Heather's Bridge.
A small portion of you may know the real meaning behind the name, but I'm going to give this instead.
HEATHER: Symbolizing the meaning of admiration and good luck, Heather is also to have protective powers.
BRIDGE: To find a way of getting over; as a difficulty.

glasses

We took the kids thru McDonalds one night and saw that they had Shrek glasses. I thought monkey would like one. I loved getting the Mcdonalds promo collectables as a kid. Hubster still has his Batman mug that he got when he was younger. It was heavy and I thought , wow, this is a good glass for $2.
Two days later is was recalled! Last night I took it back to Mcdonald's for a full refund and actually got $3 back. Good trade!
Here's the recall info if you got one too.

Man, I love winning
I have discovered the world of getting things for FREE! I stick to 2 blog mommy giveaways. I like Little Yaya's and Raising My Four Sons. The entry's can sometimes take awhile so I just do these two. Anyways, I have been needing a new broom holder. The junk one from Walmart had the same quality as the price I paid for it. I needed one and saw that there was a giveaway for it. I thought, what the heck? I won't be out anything.
Well, I won. This one is quality and I'm having the hubster hang it this weekend for me.

Hand-made with love
This is something about me that you don't know. I hate buying cards. I think it is a HUGE waste of money. I mean really, $5.95 for a card that probably will end up in the recycling bin if it's not from mom, kids or hubster?I love making things. I love making new recipes, curtains, babies, scrapbooks, and pretty much anything that I end up saying "Geez, I can do that."
I get emails from Martha (We're tight) daily. I save the ones that I find interesting and actually do-able on my budget.
We're going to make one for the hubster for Father's Day this SUNDAY, June 20th.
Paper Crave has this great idea too if you don't like to buy $6.00 gift bags.

...how does your garden grow?
Do you remember this picture? I was so excited to have the seeds sprout.
BEFORE
(March)
(June)

We've had a salad with our dinner every night for a week. Monkey loves coming out with the shears and bowl and cutting lettuce for the salad.
The Roma tomatoes are coming right along. We don't like tomatoes, but we want the kids to still eat them and form their own opinion on them.

I sure do wish I had more space to grow a larger garden, but this works well enough for our family.

Night Out!
Last night we got to go out for our wedding anniversary. We were going to take the kids with us to the Macaroni Grill since we were given a gift card as a present but, then our good friends Sam and Jenn offered to come over with their kids and watch the nuggets while we went out. Thanks Sam and Jenn for doing that for us.
I had the Salmon with risotto and spinach. I forgot to take a picture of it before I started eating, but we were so hungry!
The hubster had pollo limon crusted pasta

Happy Flag Day Anniversary!
Today is Flag day. Did you know that? Yep, June 14th. It's also the day we, and when I say we, I mean the hubster and I celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Some people remember important days because of a holiday or event marked on the calendar. Mom's birthday is the day after Valentine's Day, Buddy's birthday is on the mark of when the hubster started his job and our anniversary is on Flag Day.
Here's my flag.
Yellow
He had his birthday cupcake smashed more than eaten. Sour cream cupcake with cream cheese frosting. It was a tad warm for the frosting to be outside. Lesson learned.
The candle was lit for a total of 3 seconds before monkey swooped in and blew it out. I would have re-lit it but, he doesn't know how to blow out the candle anyways.
Everyone had a great relaxing time.
Me, monkey, buddy and grandma soaking our tootsies.
Here are the fruit skewers I was telling you about that I had planned on making. I liked how it turned out.
Maybe it was the ramada, but the decorations looked lonely. I had fun making the banner and gift bags though. I'm going to do that for now on I think. Jazz them up more next time.
