My mom and I took monkey to see Tangled on Saturday. It did not disappoint. Way better than that scary black magic VooDu "Princess and the Frog" movie. The theater was filled with kids and of course that one grumpy old man that turns around every time a sound is made and gives that 'keep your kid quiet' glare. I say "Um, then don't go to kid movies expecting kids to be quiet grumpy old man!"

Gobble
We spent Thanksgiving with my mom this year. It was really nice. I had a turkey hat project for the kids to do. The hubster went out shooting in the wash with the guys while my mom and I made the feast.
Never fails, someone always gets sick during Thanksgiving or Christmas. Last year, I got severely sick, this year it was Monkey's turn. Luckily, she was able to still swing on the swing and dance like no one was watching. Bubbie was sick last week so he was passing on the favor to his favorite sister.

Frosted
This would be great for a cookie exchange for Christmas. Are you craving this now? Well, don't because it's not real. It's made out of wood and man I think this would be awesome to make dozens of these and turn 'em into ornaments. How cute would a sugar cookie Christmas tree be? So sweet is what I say!!

born this day
I don't know how it started but every year I get a Nativity for Christmas andthe hubster gets a porcelain village.I don't just like nativities that you get from Costco and are traditional looking, I like nativities that are unusual or placed in a different scene. They're my favorite decorations to pull out when I'm decorating for Christmas. I always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving, but I've had a itch to do it this week. I probably won't but I'm excited for this year. Maybe because monkey understands Christmas and Santa this year.
This one rocks, it's not mine, but I would love it in my collection! I love that it's wooden and unique.

Spoke too soon
Last night Monkey was walking in a circle last night with her preschool scissors saying "I'm cutting the house." I literally said this to myself afterwards, "I'm so glad she has no desire to cut her hair and knows that the scissors are only for paper." Well...
...I was checking my email and she found the scissors from the counter. When I walked in she said "I cut my hair." The strange thing is that she did a really good job. She gave herself some really nice layered bangs. I tried to do bangs and Supercuts did terrible. I guess I should have gone to my 3 yr. old. My dad still has some of my hair that I cut my self too when I was a tod.

German Pancakes anyone?
Made these for breakfast on Monday and took some pictures of it before I divided it up, but now I don't know where the camera is. Story of my life. I put it up away from the kids so I don't have 42 pictures of the ground or a pink finger and can't remember which safe place I put it. Whatever. So, I found a picture on google that I swear is my picture! Weird.
6 eggs
1 c flour
1 c milk
5 Tbsp marg
salt
Blend all ingredients together with a mixer and poru into a 9x13 greased pan. Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
You can do tons of things with it, jam, syrup, pie filling, powder sugar etc...

I made this yesterday while monkey was at pre-school. I was really craving yogurt and had already eaten 2 containers of strawberry low-fat yogurt before I saw a recipe on the side of the Nilla Wafer box. I made these before and wow, I had no idea they could taste THAT good. Guilt free too.HERE is the recipe.

Laptop Lunches
Have you heard of them? I find myself being medium "Green" and a friend has a store dedicated to eco-friendly toys and recycled products. So she explained this to me. Laptop Lunches. There's a website that you can to and get creative with your kids lunches. A paper bag, orange, PB & J and crumbs of chips are apparently out. I probably would never buy the kit featured here because I can get the little tubs for way cheaper, but I do like the concept. Making lunches so inviting that they'll actually eat it, won't trade it for something else or resort to school lunches, don't get me started on what they have to eat at schools. So, today monkey has her pre-school and afterwards she's staying later and having her lunch with a few of her friends. I've never really packed a lunch for her but realize I'm going to have to do it a lot more soon. I went to their website http://www.laptoplunches.com/ and got some great ideas for her lunch today!Thursday, November 4, 2010
like a big pizza pie
An angel from heaven gave me the best thing ever since sliced bread. It's in the same family and my life has never been the same. I was a victim of buying store bought pizza or ready made crust and adding to it my self. We were invited over to a friends house for dinner one night recently and she was making pizza. I was shocked and had no idea you could make pizza dough yourself (wink). She gave me the best gift anyone could give and I am here to share it with you.
Pizza Dough:
Mix 2 1/2 cups of flour with 1 tsp. of salt in a large bowl
In a lg. cup mix 1 Tbsp. sugar, 1 Tbsp. yeast with 1 cup warm water. Let foam for 10 min.
After 10 minutes add 2 tsp. of oil to cup mixture and pour contents into flour mixture.
Kneed for 10 minutes.
Cover dough ball with oil to rise for about 15-20 minutes.
I'm going to do bread sticks this way too and cut them into sticks and brush garlic and butter over 'em. sounds good aye?

Heather's Bridge Breast Cancer Walk
On Sunday I took part of a Breast Cancer walk to raise money for treatments and education on Breast Cancer. It was a 3.5 mile walk. Just in our city we raised $266,000 in donations and about 5,000 walking that day. It was a great experience. I think I might be the team leader for it again next year.
It was cool to see so many people walking in front and behind. The line never ended and you never saw where it began.
Oh, surprise! While everyone on my team went out and got breakfast I decided to donate my hair for those during chemotherapy to make wigs. They needed 8 inches and I hand plenty to give.
Off it went. They had you do it on the stage in front of everyone. I just wanted to donate it and not have everyone stare.
And there you have it. Less shampoo for a while! Sweet.

Treats
Last night the Hubster took out little treats around the neighborhood begging for candy. The penguin would get a piece of candy from a house, walk out, sit on the ground and eat that piece of candy. Long night.

dressed in white
What did I learn while making this dress? That it needs to be serviced. My mom gave me this oldie and thought it worked fine, until I used her new super duper machine.
