water slide, amen

My cousin graduated from HS last week. We attended her
party at her parent's house, my
aunt and uncle house with
their awesome pool.
Monkey, surprisingly, wanted to go down the slide by
herself. I was for sure it was gonna
freak her out. Nope.
She couldn't get enough of it. Still, every night in her prayers she prays
that she can go back to the water slide.

Bubs wanted to go down the slide alone
too. At first I didn't know how I felt about it. He's
so little. Even though he'll be 2 next week I
just couldn't bare to have him go down without daddy. He went
down with daddy anyways. But, I think daddy brought down the fun of the slide so
Bubs voiced his concerns and got to go down alone. He loved it.
It's the boy in him.

They start swim lessons on Monday. One of the questions on the forms was if they're afraid of water. NOPE. That's our problem. They love the water, they love swimming. We go almost everyday at our community pool. The weather is so perfect right now that it's so refreshing.

Speaking of refreshing. My friend, Lindsey, at our Eclipse party,
put some sliced cucumbers in lots of crushed ice water and it was awesome!
I drank a lot of water that night.
Try it!

so big

Look at my little Bubbie. He's already so big. He made this in Nursery (with help of course) for Mother's Day. It's suppose to hang on the wall, but he loves it as a necklace too. So cute. He's the bestest Bubbie out there!

I'm leavin' on a jet plane

We went up to Idaho for Dan's Grandma's Funeral a few weeks ago. This was Monkey's second time on a plane and Bubbie's first time. He was out cold before we even reached cruising altitude.

This was Monkey's position most of the trip too. Staring out at the clouds and the farms below. I love flying and would love to take my kids everywhere to visit different places. I would SO love to take them to Europe just as I got to when I was younger.

So, when we were in the Boise airport they had a patch of the Boise State field there that you could touch and in Hubster's case, kiss. We had to take a picture.

Monkey had her Pre-school graduation at the park a while ago. One mommy made the hats and another made the certificates. Super windy day and all they wanted to do was go down the slide and swing on the swings.

We had 10 kids in our co-op. 9 girls and 1 boy. Poor boy. Maybe we'll have more boys for him next Fall.

The cupcakes were yummy and had little hats with tassels as the sprinkles.

Bubbie really wants to attend pre-school. Every day that we had pre-school he would be so sad that he could go with Monkey to class. He's learning from his sister though. He can say the alpha-bet and most of his numbers from 1-10. I guess that's good for not being 2 yet.

why do they do that?

I've been dreading this. Monkey cut her hair. Last week I went grocery shopping while the hubster stayed home with the kids. We do a really good job of keeping the scissors up and out of reach. Monkey as needs the nickname squirrel because she apparently hid a pair of preschool scissors and lobed off her hair. Luckily she didn't put it right to the scalp and go bananas, but she did do a scene from Tangled. And that is what exactly her hair looks like right now. No more curls. I'm not sure which step I'm on in grief. I know it's just hair, but I loved her hair.

I have a friend that does hair and came right over when I discovered the massacre. She did a great job of fixing it to look like we intentionally wanted to cut her hair. While she fixed it Monkey fell asleep, fast asleep. Out cold and couldn't even be woken up. So when she did wake up from her little cat nap the first thing she said was "ah, someone cut my hair!" No Edward, you cut your own hair and someone fixed it to make it look pretty.

The bubster got a hair cut too and man what he cute about it. He got right up there and stuck his little old man chin out and stood still. He was very proud of his do. I save his tiny patch that was cut and the 7 pounds of hair wild woman butchered as well.

headband ideas

I take most of my random pictures with my cell phone. Either I get to close to the picture when I snap a shot or there's smudges on the lens. Last week the hubster had his appendix taken out and while at the ER I was reading a magazine and saw this cute idea for a head band. It's just felt. I thought that I' would remember what it looked like and would be able to recreate it, but since I have a memory of a goldfish now, I take pictures of everything to remind me. The also had another one that looked like a pink bird. I don't know why I didn't take a picture. I'm sure I'll remember what it looks like, not.

giddy with getting a deal

I have recently been getting onto the Extreme Couponing wagon. I've been add matching for a really long time and using coupons whenever I have them. But now, I only buy what's on sale and make sure I have a coupon for that item. I have cut my grocery shopping bill by 64%. I've taken in a few friends under my wing too and show them the way to the promise land of saving money. Like this deal. Can you believe that I made .50 cents on this. They paid me to take it out!!

labels everywhere

While we were in Idaho we went to this event called Parade of Homes. I guess it's where all the houses I will never live in open up and let you walk through them and see how rich people live. One of the houses had recently been decorated, quite obnoxiously btw, and in the pantry everything was labeled. I love to label everything to organize better. "Does everything stay organized?" is the question. These people had labeled all the shelves for their food, but also labeled it in what I'm assuming is french. Cute idea. One to store in my brain for future reference when I get into a house big enough to not to have the need to store my groceries in the linen closet.

easter hunt 2011

We went down to Grandma's for Easter. Had an Easter egg hunt Saturday.

She loves this dress. Wears it as much as she can fit into the day.

Monkey finding great treasures in the plastic eggs. They both made a good haul and a couple bucks in change too!
